Where did Resident Evil come from?

We all know the famous Capcom franchise "Resident Evil", but, as every niponic game, it has refferences to other games, and inspired by which one? The sweet home that oppened doors to the survival horror:Inspired by the old classic of the NES from Nintendo Sweat Home. This game was basically the incarnation of the japanese Horror movie Sweat Home, that is about the story of 2 men and 3 women that wanted to find the last painting of a japanese artist. That painting was inside of his house, haunted by horrible spirits. The game looks normal, 'till a little point: when your character "dies", he/she doesn't just revive with a continue, it REALLY dies. When a woman dies, her pixelized image appears and fall, splatering blood through the screen. Nuff' really scary at all. But when a man dies, from nowhere, his legs are SEVERED, splatering blood everywhere.
There's also a scene where a man called Yamamura saves one of the integrants of your team: the daughter of the main character from a relly hot place. He was with intense fire in his body, and he looked at his hand: it was only BONES now. Then he starts to melt, and his eyes fall and at the end his skeleton appears all "blooded".That CREEPS ME OUT! Play it... if you can get out alive...
